Northumberland Film Sundays

Mission Statement

We are a group of film lovers dedicated to offering access to a diverse range of films not otherwise available at local cinemas.

We choose our films from the current TIFF FILM CIRCUIT Release Schedule which is comprised of a selected list of films with Canadian distributors and a limited theatrical release pattern.

As part of the Northumberland arts community, NFS aims to present films of high quality which serve to entertain, inform and offer perspectives from the world of contemporary Canadian and International cinema, with a focus on stories and story-telling.

We are a not-for-profit group. We will periodically make contributions to Northumberland County organizations when a cash surplus permits.

Films are screened at Rainbow Cinemas at Northumberland Mall in Cobourg on Sunday afternoons.

2024 Fall Film Series lineup:

All films will screen at the Rainbow Cinemas at the Northumberland Mall at 3:30 pm

Fall Series $45 Package Outlets: Series packages (5 films for $45) are available for purchase at the following locations:

  • Let's Talk Books – 25 King St. East, Cobourg
    Please note: Let’s Talk Books will be closed September 1 – 5, then re-opening at their new location under a new name: The Readers' Nook, 29 King Street West.
  • Bibelot – 68 Walton Street, Port Hope
  • Rainbow Cinemas Box Office – any time the box office is open **Packages only**

As usual, the NFS Ticket Table at Mall escalator will be open at 2:30 pm on Sunday, September 15th for individual or package ticket sales (cash or cheque).

If you live at a significant distance from our Ticket Outlets or perhaps travelling, you may email us (Ken and Jody Forsyth) here and request that a Package(s) for the up-coming 2024 NFS Fall Film Series be set aside for you to pick up at the NFS Ticket Table on Sunday September 15th.
